City changes focus from downtown snow clearing to widening arterial roads
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops changed recent snow clearing plans as the warmer weather and rain has caused windrows to shrink across the city.
Crews had been set to remove snow from the downtown area, but now they will focus on widening main arterial roads.
“Looking at those two-lane arterial roads, such as Eighth Street., Westsyde Street., Notre Dame Drive, McGill Road, and Hillside, that’s our focus. Where we see the road narrowing up,” Kamloops Streets and Environment Services Glen Farrow says. “Thankfully with the rain we’ve had, it’s been able to reduce the volume and tighten those windrows up a bit.”
