Jan 12, 2022 | 12:20 PM

KAMLOOPS — LifeLabs announced it’s temporarily closing its location on Nicola Street due to staffing shortages amid the spread of Omicron variant of COVID-19, and related protocols.

The Kamloops location was one of 11 LifeLabs Patient Services Centres to close in B.C. on Wednesday (Jan. 12), while five other locations now have adjusted hours. The locations on St. Paul Street, Tranquille Road, and Harrison Way are unaffected.

“We will continue to monitor the situation over the next two weeks and provide a further update at that time,” LifeLabs states.

LifeLabs says it will redeploy affected staff from the 11 sites, including Nicola Street, to nearby, central locations. Customers and healthcare providers will also be redirected to those nearby locations.
