KAMLOOPS — Three Kamloops Blazers are in the National Hockey League (NHL) Central Scouting Top-50 ranking for North American skaters.

The list unveiled on Wednesday (Jan. 12) has defenceman Mats Lindgren at No. 30, center Fraser Minten at No. 34 and right wing Matthew Seminoff at No. 50.

Lindgren is the 10th ranked North American defenceman. He has 20 points (two goals and 18 assists) in 31 games.

Minten has 23 points (10 goals and 13 assists) in 30 games but has been heating up with seven points in his last five.

Seminoff has 33 points (15 goals and 18 assists) in 30 games.

If Lindgren, Minten and Seminoff get selected by NHL teams, it will be the second year in a row with three players from the Blazers drafted. Logan Stankoven was taken by Dallas in the second round in 2021, followed by Caedan Bankier and Josh Pillar taken by Minnesota in the third and fourth rounds respectively.

Elsewhere, Kamloops local Matthew Ward was ranked No. 144 for North American skaters. The 17-year-old center has 34 points (12 goals and 22 assists) in 32 games with the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL.

The 2022 NHL Draft is scheduled for July 7 and 8.
