Highway 3 reopens following avalanche deposit removal

KAMLOOPS — Highway 3 reopened in both directions Saturday (Jan. 8) after being closed for avalanche deposit removal.

DriveBC tells drivers to expect major delays due to congestion.

Highway 99 has an avalanche danger warning Lillooet and Pemberton. DriveBC says roads may close at any time. Drivers are asked to be prepared to shelter in place and carry extra food, water, and warm clothing. The next update is due Monday (Jan. 10) morning.

The Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt remains open for commercial traffic. The Trans Canada Highway is closed between Lytton to one kilometre south of Jackass Mountain Summit due to a high avalanche hazard.
