KAMLOOPS — The Mustard Seed kicked off its 12 days of Christmas campaign on Sunday (Dec. 12).

Until Dec. 23, The Mustard Seed’s outreach centre will be accepting donations of items its clients urgently need.

“Everyday we have a different item, and we give that item,” Mustard Seed Managing Director Kelly Thompson says. “We put them in bags and then on Christmas day, when we have our Christmas meal here, we give out all those bags to everyone who shows up.”

Items in need include underwear, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, winter coats, socks, body cleansing wipes, and even a turkey for Christmas.

“They don’t have people at Christmas. They don’t have friends; they don’t have places to go. They’re on the street. They have their little group, but this is home to them,” Thompson continued. “So, if we could put on Christmas here for them, give them a dinner, give them a package that has a lot of useful things they need – their faces light up when they get a gift.”

The outreach centre is located at 181 West Victoria St. Items can be dropped off on weekends from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. To read the full list, click here.
