Slippery sections and compact snow reported on Highways 1, 5, and 5A around Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Drivers in Kamloops are asked to watch for compact snow and slippery sections.
On Saturday (Dec. 4), Argo Roads Thompson, the B.C. road maintenance contractor for the Thompson region, reports challenging driving conditions for Highway 1, 5, and 5A.
Highway 1 includes slippery sections and compact snow for over 99 kilometres between six kilometres east of Kamloops to eight kilometres east of Cache Creek. Additionally, it’s snowing between six kilometres east of Kamloops and 25 kilometres east of Sicamous.
Highway 5 is experiencing snow between 29 kilometres south of Merritt to eight kilometres north of Surrey Lake Summit. Drivers are asked to watch for slippery sections and compact snow between eight kilometres north of Surrey Lake Summit to Kamloops, and Kamloops to 13 kilometres south of Barriere.
