KAMLOOPS — British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) launched an online fundraiser today (Nov. 29) to help maximize community support for the Kamloops Food Bank and local businesses.

From Nov. 29 to Dec. 10, the value of purchases made on BCLC’s Love Local BC page will go directly to one of the 11 participating food bank organizations, including the Kamloops Food Bank, and help drive support and awareness for local businesses.

“BCLC has been a long-time friend of the Kamloops Food Bank and we are very grateful for its support,” Kamloops Food Bank Executive Director Bernadette Siracky says. “The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made this holiday season especially difficult for many families in our community. Funds raised through BCLC’s Love Local BC initiative will go a long way in helping us provide healthy meals to hundreds of individuals in Kamloops this holiday season.”

BCLC purchased numerous items and gift cards from local businesses and made them available on the Love Local BC fundraising page. When an item is purchased, or a silent-auction item is successfully bid on, the funds are directed to a food bank.
