Caputo says throne speech didn’t have solid plans to address cost of living and inflation
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Frank Caputo says Tuesday’s (Nov. 23) throne speech was a lot of the same dialogue from the federal Liberals campaign platform.
“Climate change is a priority, and it was a priority for us in our previous campaign,” Caputo told CFJC Today. “But there didn’t seem to be any solid plans to address cost of living, particularly inflation.”
As shadow minister for veterans affairs and associate minister for national defence, Caputo says he didn’t see anything particular in Gov. Gen. Mary Simon’s first speech from the throne, but he will review it before making comment.
With the throne speech come and gone, Caputo says he’s chomping at the bit to get back into the House of Commons to commence work.
