LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — An online fundraiser has identified the family involved in a horrific crash near Logan Lake Thursday (Nov. 19).

The GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help with funeral costs for six-year-old Ember Young, who was killed in the crash.

The collision took place during the noon hour along Highway 97C near Foley Road south of Logan Lake. The family was travelling in a passenger vehicle that struck a utility truck head-on.

According to the fundraiser, Ember’s baby sister Hailey and mother Jordan were seriously injured in the crash.

“I am setting this up on Jordan’s behalf as she is in no condition to do it herself,” said GoFundMe organizer Macy Jarry, Ember’s aunt. “If anyone can help make the financial impact of this situation even a little bit easier on the family, it’s the least we can do in such a devastating time.”

RCMP are investigating the cause of the crash, but say winter highway conditions may have played a factor.

Anyone with further information on the crash, including dashcam footage, is urged to contact Merritt RCMP.
