Highway crash near Logan Lake claims life of child

LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — RCMP say a child was killed in a head-on crash near Logan Lake during the noon hour today.

In a news release, Cpl. Mike Halskov of B.C. Highway Patrol says the crash took place at about 12:15 p.m. on Highway 97C near Foley Road, south of Logan Lake.

Halskov says a passenger vehicle collided head-on with a large utility vehicle.

While a child passenger was pronounced dead, the other occupants were taken to hospital with injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but Halskov says there is no evidence to suggest criminality at this stage in the investigation.
