B.C. reports 1,270 new COVID-19 cases, active cases decrease in the province and Interior Health

KAMLOOPS — B.C. reported 1,270 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend (Nov. 12 to 15), with 275 of them in Interior Health.

Active cases slightly decreased to 3,837 in the province (down by 428 since Friday) and decreased to 762 in Interior Health (down by 100).

Hospitalizations slightly went down across the province. Of the active cases, 376 patients are in hospital (down by eight) and patients in intensive care decreased to 116 (down by eight). The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

The three-day breakdown is as follows:

  • Nov. 12 to 13 – 502
  • Nov. 13 to 14 – 387
  • Nov. 14 to 15 – 381

Elsewhere, there were 417 new cases in Fraser Health (1,325 active), 274 in Northern Health (641), 183 in Island Health (576), and 121 in Vancouver Coastal Health (474). No new cases were reported from people who reside outside of Canada, although that active count remains at 59.

Sixteen new deaths were reported in the last 72 hours, two of them in Interior Health, for a provincial total of 2,273.

No new COVID-19 outbreaks were declared at healthcare facilities, but 23 are still active, including Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre and Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

As of Friday, 90.7 per cent (4,203,257) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while 86.8 per cent (4,021,455) received their second.
