TRU men’s basketball team splits weekend at University of Fraser Valley, women still looking for their first win
KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University’s (TRU) men’s basketball team is leaving Abbotsford in the same position they entered: in the middle of the West Division standings with a 0.500 winning percentage.
The male WolfPack won their first game at the University of Fraser Valley (UFV) on Friday (Nov. 12) 69-63, with Brad King leading the way offensively with 24 points, before falling on the other receiving end of a six-point game, losing on Saturday 81-75. Brendan Sullivan scored 32 points in the effort.
The WolfPack are 3-3 on the Canada West season, tied for third in the West Division with UFV and the University of Northern British Columbia.
However, the female WolfPack’s challenging start to the season continued, dropping both their games at UFV by scores of 73-54 on Friday and 72-31 on Saturday. Jessica Orr led TRU in scoring with 19 points on Friday, while Kyla Smith led with 11 points on Saturday.
