KAMLOOPS — The week of Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, 2021, was challenging for Local Health Areas (LHA) with higher populations in the Interior when it comes to COVID-19 cases.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control’s most recent cases count data broken down by LHA, Kamloops and Vernon had slight increases, while more notable spikes were in Salmon Arm and Central Okanagan (Kelowna).

Kamloops’ 142 weekly cases puts them back at an average daily rate per 100,000 population between 15.1 to 20.

Transmission remains plateaued in Vancouver Coastal Health, while rising in Northern Vancouver Island. Most Northern Health LHA’s are still at an average daily rate greater than 20, but areas such as Prince George, Nechako, and Prince Rupert are no longer in the dark red.
