Hundreds sign petition calling for Williams Lake mayor’s resignation
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Hundreds of signatories have added their voices to the call for Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb to resign.
Cobb has been under fire for a social media post shared recently lauding “the other side” of Canada’s residential school system, describing the system’s benefits.
The post, which Cobb has since deleted, led the Tsilhqot’in Nation to call for Cobb’s resignation.
At Tuesday’s (Nov. 2) regular council meeting, Cobb apologized for the post but refused to step down.
