B.C. reports 457 new COVID-19 cases; hospitalizations up by 24
VICTORIA — B.C. reported 457 new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday (Oct. 26), with 83 of them in Interior Health.
Active cases decreased to 4,829 in B.C. (down by 137 since Monday), while slightly decreasing to 642 in Interior Health (down by 23). Of the provincial active cases, 390 individuals are in hospital (up by 26), 155 of them are in intensive care (up by six). The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
Elsewhere, 176 new cases were reported in Fraser Health (2,002 active), 82 in Northern Health (877), 61 in Vancouver Coastal Health (670) and 55 in Island Health (579). No new cases were reported for people who reside outside of Canada, although that active count sits at 59.
In the past 24 hours, two new deaths have been reported, neither in Interior Health, for a provincial total of 2,131.
