Kamloops man arrested after BB gun used in truck theft attempt
KAMLOOPS — A 32-year-old Kamloops man faces numerous charges following an attempted theft Saturday (Oct. 23) morning.
Officers attended the 300-block of Tranquille Road after a person allegedly confronted a man who was trying to take a truck without permission, and the man’s response included displaying a handgun.
Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the man was known to RCMP and he was recognized and located after a short foot pursuit.
The man is charged with obstructing a peace officer in the execution of his duty, four counts of breach probation by not keeping the peace or being of good behaviour and two counts of breach probation by possessing a BB pellet gun. He was remanded and the matter is before the courts.
