RCMP called to weapons complaint in Valleyview

KAMLOOPS — A device resembling a homemade firework caused a police presence in Valleyview.

RCMP say officers were called to a motel on the 1800-block of the East Trans Canada Highway at around 11:20 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 21) morning after receiving a report involving a suspected firearm. Police say a dispute between two tenants ended with one of them producing a suspected weapon.

Two people were arrested and later released at scene after multiple officers attended in response to the elevated risk.
