Kamloops and many surrounding areas see fewer weekly COVID-19 cases

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops local health area (LHA) saw a slight decrease in COVID-19 cases between Oct. 10 and 16, as did many others.

According to the latest COVID-19 data made available by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) broken down by LHA, Kamloops saw 118 new cases, which is still at an average daily rate per 100,000 population in between 10.1 and 15.

Other LHA’s also saw decreases, including Cariboo/Chilcotin, Merritt, Central Okanagan, 100 Mile House, and Salmon Arm. LHA’s such as North Thompson, Lillooet, Armstrong-Spallumcheen, and Enderby saw slight increases.

Here is a list of LHA totals in the Interior surrounding Kamloops:

  • Kamloops – 118 (down by 13)
  • Cariboo/Chilcotin – 57 (down by 10)
  • North Thompson – three (up by two)
  • 100 Mile House – 20 (down by 28)
  • South Cariboo – two (down by nine)
  • Lillooet – four (up by one)
  • Merritt – 17 (down by seven)
  • Vernon – 46 (down by 17)
  • Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 12 (up by two)
  • Enderby – 20 (up by six)
  • Salmon Arm – 41 (down by 25)
  • Revelstoke – six (unchanged)
  • Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 171 (down by 15)
