KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have made their first trade of the 2021-22 season, acquiring 18-year-old goaltender Keegan Maddocks from the Regina Pats.
Going the other way is an eighth-round selection in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
Maddocks, who is from Langley, began his career with the Victoria Royals and was acquired by Regina this past off-season. He has played parts of four games in the WHL since debuting in 2018-19.
In a news release, Blazers Assistant G.M. Tim O’Donovan says Maddocks is expected to play the season with the Merritt Centennials of the B.C. Hockey League, but be available to the Blazers as a call-up through the current season.
