Kamloops sees significant decrease of weekly COVID-19 cases; out of dark red category

KAMLOOPS — For the first time since Aug. 8 to 14, the Kamloops local health area (LHA) is at an average daily rate per 100,000 population in between 10.1 and 15.

According to the latest COVID-19 data made available by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) broken down by LHA, Kamloops had 131 new cases between Oct. 3 and 9, putting it out of the dark red category of an average daily rate of 20.

Other LHA’s also saw notable decreases, such as Cariboo/Chilcotin, Merritt, Central Okanagan and Lillooet. However, some such as Salmon Arm saw significant increases.

Here is a list of LHA totals in the Interior surrounding Kamloops:

• Kamloops – 131 (down by 95)
• Cariboo/Chilcotin – 67 (down by 22)
• North Thompson – one (down by three)
• 100 Mile House – 48 (up by six)
• South Cariboo – 11 (down by one)
• Lillooet – three (down by seven)
• Merritt – 24 (down by 19)
• Vernon – 63 (down by one)
• Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 10 (up by four)
• Enderby – 14 (up by three)
• Salmon Arm – 86 (up by 24)
• Revelstoke – six (up by four)
• Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 186 (down by 37)
