1940 — 2021

Elizabeth Joseph age 80 went to be with Lord Jesus on September 12, 2021 at Kamloops Hospice surrounded by her husband Joseph, her kids and grand kids. Elizabeth was the youngest of 4 siblings pre-deceased Emanuel, Samuel and Lily, her parents Daniel Lal Mahi and Mariam Mall. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Joseph Parshad, Son Gohar (Sabina), daughter Rebecca (Faran), son Tahir (Iona), daughter Rachel (Abiezer) and 9 grand children.

Elizabeth was born in Lahore, Pakistan to Daniel and Mariam Lal Mahi and she was the youngest of 4 siblings. Every on called her “Gudi” which means doll in Punjabi. She was the baby of the family. Her family was a devout Christian family, her father was the elder of their church: Naulakha Church Lahore, her father had a great influence on her Christian life. Elizabeth studied at Kinnaird High School Lahore and completed her Teachers training at Lahore Convent Teachers Training Centre. Elizabeth was a primary school teacher at Queen Mary College Lahore till her retirement.

Elizabeth came to Canada in 2003 and settled in Kamloops BC. Elizabeth and her family attended Kamloops Alliance Church and became a beloved members of the Church community. She was well loved in her network of friends. She loved to cook and share Pakistani food with friends, she would even take her specialty foods and share with the teachers at her grandkids’ school which they look forward to receive from her. Elizabeth and Joseph loved to host family gatherings and everyone enjoyed their hospitality and good food.

Elizabeth was far away from many of her relatives, she valued her relationships and always kept in touch across Canada, US, UK and Pakistan. Elizabeth will be missed by all her immediate and extended family.
