Three vie for Tk’emlups chief’s position in upcoming election

TK’EMLUPS — Tk’emlups te Secwepemc has finalized its candidate lists for the upcoming chief and council election.

There are three candidates vying to be chief: Incumbent Rosanne Casimir, Chad Gottfriedson and Jeanette Jules.

There are seven councillor spots up for grabs and 12 candidates for them:

• Marie Baptiste
• Thomas Blank
• Evelyn Camille
• Nickole (Nikki) Fraser
• Joshua Gottfriedson
• Justin Gottfriedson
• Freda Jules
• Sonny Joseph Leonard
• David (Dave) Manuel
• Nicole (Morning-Star) Peters
• Denny Thomas
• Viola Thomas

Advanced voting for TteS members will take place on Nov. 6 and general election day is set for Nov. 13.
