Interior Health declares COVID-19 outbreak over at Kamloops Seniors Village

KAMLOOPS — The COVID-19 outbreak at Kamloops Seniors Village was declared over on Friday (Oct. 1).

Interior Health (IH) states the long-term care facility had 20 cases associated with the outbreak – 10 residents and 10 staff. One death was connected to the outbreak.

According to IH, there are still three active COVID-19 facility outbreaks in Kamloops: the Hamlets at Westsyde (declared Sept. 1), Overlander (Sept. 19), and Royal Inland Hospital’s (RIH) Six North ward (Sept. 27).

As of Friday, the Hamlets has six cases (three residents and three staff), Overland has 22 (16 residents and six staff, with two deaths), and RIH has two patient cases.
