WolfPack men face first-place showdown as TRU welcomes back fans
KAMLOOPS — First place is on the line this weekend at Hillside Stadium, and while the TRU men understand the challenge ahead against Trinity Western, they are quietly confident about their prospects of taking over sole possession of top spot in Canada West for the first time in program history.
“It’s huge,” said WolfPack defender Callum Etches. “It benefits us once we go into the playoff rounds because obviously we’re playing the teams from the Prairie Division. It’s not the be-all or anything finishing first, but we want to win every game we can.”
The WolfPack have grinded out two wins and four draws this season. Both wins — the first against UBC Okanagan on Sept. 18 and the latest last weekend against UVic — were one-goal affairs, showing the WolfPack’s resiliency in tight games.
