Turnout down in Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo for Monday’s federal vote

KAMLOOPS — Voter turnout declined in Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo for the second consecutive federal election.

Elections Canada has tabulated all of the ballots in the riding from Monday’s vote, validating a total of 69,344 ballots, representing 65.2 per cent of the 106,354 registered voters.

That turnout is a drop from 69.9 per cent in 2019 and 73.4 per cent in 2015.

Conservative candidate Frank Caputo won the riding with 29,584 votes, representing 42.7 per cent of all ballots cast.
