Kamloops and Central Okanagan see big decreases in weekly COVID-19 cases
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Local Health Area (LHA) is no longer seeing red.
According to the latest geographic distribution of COVID-19 by LHA of Case Residence by the B.C. Centre of Disease Control, Kamloops saw 158 new cases between Sept. 12 and Sept. 18, a decrease of 112.
It’s the first time since the week of Aug. 8 to 14 when Kamloops saw an average daily rate per 100,000 population less than 20. Kamloops is now dark orange — an average rate between 15.1 and 20.
Central Okanagan (Kelowna) saw 257 new cases – a decrease of 103 and an average daily rate per 100,000 population less than 20. It’s the first time Central Okanagan hasn’t seen red since July 18 to 24.
