Fraser earns USPORTS Athlete of the Week honours after two key goals over weekend
KAMLOOPS — The awards keep piling up for WolfPack fifth-year soccer player James Fraser after a killer two-game weekend against UBC Okanagan.
Fraser was named U SPORTS Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, coming on the heels of a great performance in Kelowna where he scored twice against the Heat.
Fraser scored the last-minute game-winner in the 90th minute on Saturday, heading in a Ryan Lewis cross to give the pack a 2-1 victory. In Sunday’s 1-1 draw, the striker scored in the opening minutes of the second half to keep TRU undefeated at 1-0-3.
“It’s an honour, something that I can look back on when I’m all done here,” said Fraser. “But I don’t let these awards get in my head too much, I know that there’s a lot more room for improvement from me and hopefully this isn’t the last time this season that it happens.”
