Conservatives keep Nicola and Shuswap ridings; Albas and Arnold re-elected

KAMLOOPS — The Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) retained the Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola and North Okanagan-Shuswap ridings.
The Canadian Press projects that Dan Albas in Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola and Mel Arnold in North Okanagan-Shuswap have been re-elected. Albas has served Merritt and area since the 2011 federal election when he was elected as Okanagan-Coquihalla MP, while Arnold has served Salmon Arm and area since 2011.
As of 9:28 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 20), Elections Canada says Albas has 45.3 per cent of the vote, while Arnold has 44.8 per cent.
