RCMP seek tips after swastika spray-painted on Tk’emlups billboard promoting COVID-19 measures

TK’EMLUPS — Tk’emlups Rural RCMP are investigating hateful graffiti sprayed onto a billboard.

The detachment received a report of “anti-COVID messaging and a swastika” sprayed onto a billboard promoting safety measures.

The billboard had been rented by the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc and Qwemtsin Health Society, and stands along Highway 5 just south of Paul Lake Road.

It’s believed the vandalism took place sometime between Satruday afternoon and Monday morning (Sept. 20).

Anyone who captured dashcam footage of the vandalism taking place or who has any further information on the crime is asked to contact Tk’emlups Rural RCMP at (250) 314-1800 and cite file 2021-33109.
