Kamloops LHA sees slight increase in weekly COVID-19 cases, Central Okanagan drops again

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Local Health Area (LHA) saw an increase in weekly COVID-19 cases.

According to the latest geographic distribution of COVID-19 by LHA of Case Residence by the B.C. Centre of Disease Control, Kamloops saw 270 new cases between Sept. 5 and Sept. 11, an increase of 21. It’s still an average daily rate per 100,000 population greater than 20.

Areas such as Central Okanagan (Kelowna) and Merritt saw decreases from last week, but areas such as Salmon Arm and Cariboo/Chilcotin saw notable increases.

The breakdown is as follows:

  • Kamloops – 270 (up by 21)
  • Cariboo/Chilcotin – 95 (up by 18)
  • North Thompson – four (up by one)
  • 100 Mile House – nine (up by two)
  • South Cariboo – 23 (up by four)
  • Lillooet – five (unchanged)
  • Merritt – 11 (down by 10)
  • Vernon – 165 (down by four)
  • Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 31 (up by 13)
  • Enderby – 26 (up by five)
  • Salmon Arm – 104 (up by 28)
  • Revelstoke – 12 (up by seven)
  • Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 360 (down by 118)
