LISTS: Which City of Kamloops facilities will require a proof-of-vaccination card and which will not

KAMLOOPS — With the provincial proof-of-vaccination program kicking in next week, the City of Kamloops has clarified which municipal facilities will and will not require the public to produce vaccine cards.

The Province of B.C. is mandating citizens provide proof of a single dose of COVID-19 vaccination to access non-essential activities and services as of next Monday (Sept. 13). Proof of two doses will be required as of Oct. 24.

The City of Kamloops says the following facilities are affected:

  • Tournament Capital Centre
  • Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre (Fitness Centre only)
  • All City arenas (Brocklehurst Arena, McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre, Sandman Centre and Valleyview Arena)
  • All City community centres (Hal Rogers Activity Centre, Heritage House, Valleyview Community Hall, West Highlands Community Centre and the Yacht Club)

On the other hand, proof-of-vaccination cards are not needed for the following facilities and activities:

  • City Hall (7 Victoria Street West)
  • Civic Operations Centre (955 Concordia Way)
  • Human Resources/Development and Engineering (105 Seymour Street)
  • Kamloops Museum and Archives (207 Seymour Street)
  • Community Services Centre (1303 Mission Flats Road)
  • All fire stations and RCMP detachments
  • Attending City meetings, paying bills, applying for permits and other City business
  • Adults supporting children and youth participating in recreation and sport programs (i.e. parents, coaches, volunteers, etc.)
  • Sport and recreation programs for children and youth
  • Aquatic programs and public swimming

Mask-wearing is still mandatory in all indoor, public places in B.C.
