Health officials expected to declare COVID-19 outbreak at The Hamlets at Westsyde Friday

KAMLOOPS — Interior Health (IH) says a COVID-19 exposure at The Hamlets in Westsyde is expected to be declared an outbreak shortly.

In an email to CFJC Today, IH says its officials are in the final stages of an investigation after an exposure to the virus at the Kamloops care facility.

As of Thursday (Sept. 2), the situation at the Hamlets is considered an exposure, but it is likely to be elevated to outbreak status Friday.

There is no word how many staff and residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
