KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 363 calls for service from midnight on Friday, Aug. 27, to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls.

Man struck with weapon along Tranquille

Officers attended the 300-block of Tranquille Road Friday afternoon where a man had been struck in the head with a weapon and was running northbound after the person responsible.

Kamloops RCMP say they located the victim nearby and bandaged his bleeding head while awaiting ambulance, although the man was uncooperative with the investigation.

Video surveillance located nearby showed a suspect wearing a white shirt and blue pants. The investigation is ongoing.

Loaded firearm and drugs found in truck with stolen plate

Two men were arrested for possessing stolen property Saturday morning, which led to drugs and paraphernalia, weapons, electronics and various identifications being seized.

An officer was patrolling near the 1700-block of the East Trans Canada Highway when he noted two people working on the front of a red truck with a stolen plate attached.

Police say the men were released pending the investigation’s outcome and charge recommendations.

Vehicle stolen in break and enter

A resident returned home to find the front door kicked in, and their blue Nissan Rogue (B.C. license plate GT348J) and a few random items stolen.

RCMP say they were called to a home on the 900-block of Garymede Court Monday afternoon to investigate the report. The break-in was believed to have happened around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. A black Porsche SUV was observed in the area at the time.
