B.C. reports 698 new COVID-19 cases, including 252 within Interior Health
VICTORIA – Over the past 24 hours, the B.C. government reports 698 new COVID-19 cases in the province, including five epi-linked cases, with 252 in Interior Health.
Provincially, there are 5,356 active cases, with 1,911 of those in Interior Health. Of the active provincial cases, 139 individuals are in hospital, with 75 in intensive care. According to the B.C. COVID-19 dashboard, Interior Health as 45 hospitalizations with 22 of them in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
There was one new death reported in Fraser Health on Wednesday (Aug. 25). The provincial total is 1,802.
Elsewhere, there were 203 new cases in Fraser Health (1,294 active), 29 in Vancouver Coastal Health (1,347), 69 in Island Health (470) and 45 in Northern Health (322). There were no new cases reported from people who reside outside of Canada, although that active count is at 12.
