Two in custody after break-in and abduction in Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM, B.C. — A man is recovering in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after an alleged abduction north of Salmon Arm.
RCMP responded Monday (Aug. 23) at 5:45 p.m. after a man was reportedly assaulted, forced into a vehicle, and then threatened by a 26-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman in the 2000-block of Piers Point Road. RCMP say the male victim was able to escape the vehicle as it moved down the road and ran to a house nearby to call police.
The male and female suspects then reportedly broke into a property on First Nations Road near Salmon Arm. Police say a resident fled and then the suspects attempted to hide in the residence.
Salmon Arm RCMP say they arrived on scene, located the suspects, and sealed off the area. The suspects surrendered to police without incident at approximately 10:30 p.m. the same evening.
