B.C. COVID-19 case count grows by 663; hospitalizations and ICU admissions on the rise

VICTORIA — On the heels of tightened COVID-19 restrictions in Interior Health, this health authority remains the province’s leader in new cases.
The latest report from the B.C. Ministry of Health Friday (Aug. 20) shows 663 new cases in the province, including 274 within Interior Health.
The active caseload in B.C. jumped by 363 cases to 6,345 on Friday. Fifty-five per cent of those cases are found in Interior Health.
There are 129 people in hospital and 59 in intensive care, both increases from Thursday.
