TNRD issues evacuation order for 22 properties near Highway 1 south of Lytton

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation order was issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre in Kamloops Saturday (Aug. 14) afternoon.

The order was issued for 22 properties due to the George Road/Mowhokam wildfire in the Lytton Creek complex. It’s threatening structures and residents near Highway 1 south of Lytton.

Properties affected include:

• 1040 to 1210 George Rd.
• 2730 and 2740 Siwash Rd.
• 752 to 838 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• 874 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• 1140 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• 1912 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• 1940 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• 2176 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• 2781 to 3045 Trans-Canada Hwy.
• any other properties noted within the area on the attached map
  (Thompson-Nicola Regional District).

If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately. Emergency Support Services will only be provided if your primary residence is one of the properties under evacuation order.
