Suspect identified in pair of Columbia Street grass fires – Kamloops RCMP seeking dash cam footage
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a suspect has been identified in relation to a series of grass fires along Columbia Street yesterday (Aug. 11).
Police say around 3:30 p.m Wednesday, officers were called to a grass fire in the 300-block of Columbia Street, and roughly a half hour later, a second one broke out on Columbia Street West. Both fires were quickly extinguished by Kamloops Fire Rescue.
Cst. Crystal Evelyn says in a release that a suspect has been identified and police are investigating.
Now, RCMP are asking for any video that witnesses may have of the areas in question. Anyone who was travelling in the area of Columbia Street to 3rd Avenue, and well as Columbia Street West to Sahali Terrace is asked to check their dash cam footage between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m for anything that may be related to these incidents.
