Kamloops man arrested after reportedly walking downtown with an axe and yelling at people

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking for witnesses following a report involving a man with an axe Tuesday (Aug. 3) afternoon.

At 1:40 p.m., police were called to Victoria Street and Third Avenue for a report of a man walking downtown with an axe and yelling at two people.

Officers located a man known to police, alone with an axe, in a parking lot on the 500-block of Seymour Street. He was arrested and the axe was seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police said no injuries have been reported.
