Evacuation Order Lifted

Evacuation order to be downgraded for Spences Bridge

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) announced it will downgrade an evacuation order for Spences Bridge on Tuesday (Aug. 3) at noon.

Highway 8 is expected to re-open at the same time in both directions from Spences Bridge to 17 kilometres west of Merritt. Highway 1 between Spences Bridge and Lytton re-opened July 22.

Should conditions change, the TNRD said an evacuation alert or order could be reinstated as necessary.
