Flat Lake Wildfire results in new Evacuation Order

KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Nicola Regional District has issued an Evacuation Order for 125 properties within Electoral Area “E” (Bonaparte Plateau).

The order is being put in place because of the growth of the Flat Lake wildfire. The order affects the properties listed below:

• 2340 to 4415 Big Bar Rd;

• 2760 and 2769 Dog Creek Rd;

• 1876 to 1948 Lake Dr;

TNRD / Evacuation Order – Flat Lake Wildfire – Electoral Area “E” (Bonaparte Plateau)

If you are in the area of the Evacuation Order, you must leave immediately. Report to Lake City Secondary School at 640 Carson Drive in Williams Lake.

BC Wildfire officials reported increased fire behaviour on the southern flank of the fire over the last few days. The Flat Lake wildfire has grown to nearly 40,000 hectares.
