Following regional restrictions this week, B.C reports 204 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

VICTORIA — COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise Thursday (July 29), with the province reporting 204 new cases of the virus around B.C.

In an update, B.C’s Ministry of Health states 107 of those new cases have been identified in the Interior Health region. As of Thursday, there are 1,055 active cases in B.C, with 600 of those found in the Interior.

This follow’s Wednesday’s announcement of regional restrictions for the Central Okanagan, as a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared in the area.

Additionally, the province says 81.0 per cent (3,753,057) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have been given their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while 64.1 per cent (2,971,793) have received their second dose.
