KAMLOOPS — The R-C-M-P say they have recovered a pickup truck that veered of Highway 97 and sank in 6-Mile Lake south of Clinton on the weekend — claiming the life of a woman.
The Mounties say the vehicle had slipped beneath the surface of the water when officers arrived on the scene on Sunday morning.
Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey says the woman in her 30s was pronounced dead despite efforts by bystanders to perform C-P-R, while a man in his 30s was taken to hospital as a precaution.
He says the pickup had been reported stolen in Cache Creek last week, but police do not believe criminality was involved in the woman’s death. (The Canadian Press)
