Cyclist seriously injured after vehicle collision in Williams Lake
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP are reminding cyclists to follow the rules of the road after one was seriously injured in a collision over the weekend.
In a news release, North District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the incident happened on Saturday at about 10:00 p.m., at the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 20.
Saunderson says a vehicle went through the intersection northbound on a green light. It’s believed the cyclist crossed the highway against the light and was struck by the vehicle.
The woman was taken to hospital with severe injuries. The driver was not injured and remained at the scene.
