Purdy Lake wildfire leads to expanded Evacuation Alert

WILLIAMS LAKE – The Cariboo Regional District has expanded an Evacuation Alert west of Quesnel.

The Titetown and Nazko North alert lies just north of an area that was under a previous alert.

The area is being threatened by the Purdy Lake fire. It has grown to 7,600 hectares since being discovered July 5.

The BC Wildfire Service says 23 firefighters are battling the fire with the assistance of 3 helicopters and 9 pieces of heavy equipment.
