Road to Sun Peaks only open for residents and employees due to Embleton Mountain Fire

SUN PEAKS — Sun Peaks is still operational despite the nearby Embleton Mountain Wildfire, albeit only to guests who are already at the resort.

B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has a check point on Heffley Louis Creek Road west of Whitecroft as fire crews work on the Embleton Mountain Wildfire southwest of Sun Peaks.

Mayor Al Raine told CFJC Today the road is open to full-time residents and employees of Sun Peaks, although recreational day travel is not allowed due to the wildfire.
