TK’EMLUPS — The Tk’emlups te Secwepemc (TteS) say the report on findings at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School will be made public next week.

TteS has scheduled a virtual public presentation of the findings for next Thursday morning (July 15) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The First Nation initially announced the discovery of 215 unmarked graves near the residential school site on May 27, saying the use of ground-penetrating radar shed more light on a knowing in the community. It is believed the graves contain bodies of deceased students.

Since the announcement, other Nations across Canada have come forward with similar findings, including 751 gravesites on the Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan.
