New evacuation alerts issued near Canim Lake, Deka Lake fires

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The Cariboo Regional District has issued two new evacuation alerts due to growing wildfires within the region.

One alert is for the area of Sulphurous Lake — near Deka Lake — and encompasses areas north of the lake – around Hathaway Lake and further north.

The other is for dozens of properties north and west of Canim Lake.

Both areas are east of 100 Mile House and are dealing with nearby wildfires.
