Evacuation Alert given to Canim Lake area

CANIM LAKE — An Evacuation Alert has been issued by Cariboo Regional District at the Emergency Operations Centre.

Because of the potential danger to life and health, the Cariboo Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert for the Canim Lake area.

The Evacuation Alert was issued to prepare residents to evacuate their premises or property should it be required.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation. However, they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

Residents should be prepared by having a plan to transport for all family members, keep essential items readily available for a quick departure, ensure any dependents are prepared for departure, move pets and livestock to a safe area, and ensure you have accommodations.
