B.C. reports 84 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths as officials warn about heat

VICTORIA — British Columbia health officials say two more people have died and 84 new COVID-19 infections have been reported over the last two days.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix say nearly 79 per cent of eligible adults and 77.5 per cent of eligible youths have received a first dose of vaccine.

About 35 per cent of adults and 33 per cent of youths have received second doses.

Henry and Dix say in a release that more than 5.1 million vaccine doses have been administered, of which 1.5 million are second doses.
